Submission on Standards in Public Life

We believe that the UK’s framework for regulating ethical standards in public life is unable to manage an increased willingness to contravene the ethical norms which have previously guided public life. It is in urgent need of reform.

In light of the problems and threats outlined in our submission, we recommend a full review of the UK’s standards framework to ensure that it is strategic, comprehensive, well-resourced, backed by sufficiently robust institutions and regulatory frameworks, and equipped to deal with the challenges we face in the twenty-first century.
